PREVIEW AND ORDER YOUR RISOPRINTS ONLINE WITH OUR PRINT SIMULATOR! // STUDIO VISITS ON APPOINTMENT

Risography is a print process which combines the best of digital and traditional print: a hand-made look and feel with the speed, low-cost and efficiency of a modern printer. Though it looks on the outside like a copy machine, the Risograph is not a copier. It is a duplicator (think mimeograph) with a process like screen printing. The Riso duplicator internally creates a stencil that is laid onto a drum filled with ink. The drum then spins at high speed, forcing the ink through the stencil onto the paper, where it is absorbed creating a unique look and texture.

Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, the Riso Kagaku Corporation is the inventor and distributor of Riso print equipment. The Risograph was marketed for high volume and inexpensive duplicating and to this day it is mainly used by businesses, schools and churches who need production runs of 50 to 10,000 prints of the same thing. Because of Riso’s similarities to screen printing and the availability of 21 standard colors along with 50 custom colors, designers and artists have begun adapting these machines to produce beautiful and unique spot color based works.

Everything on uncoated paper! Common applications are: business cards, postcards, flyers, posters, artprints, wedding invitations, cd/ tape and vinyl inserts, tags, envelopes, zines, folders, notebooks/ stationery, packaging, etc.

Let your imagination go wild! for tailored services please get in touch with us.

We have an amazing print simulator where you’ll have the possibility to upload your designs (as pdf, png or jpeg). Here you can play with our many colors and the opacity settings. Keep in mind that it is not possible to fully replicate the risography technique digitally. The preview gives you an idea but the final result will be even more exciting! Not everything is suited to be risoprinted , but if you’ve followed our tutorials, and your artwork has been prepared well – It rarely disappoints!

We are working very hard to provide a complete sample pack which we’ll make available for you to order. Keep an eye on our website and instagram to be informed when the sample pack will be available!

You are very welcome to check our instagram for some examples of the prints we have produced. Also during our opening hours it is possible for you to visit our studio!

That depends on how many colors your design consists of and so how many masters are needed. Every color needs a new master and a new print run. We print one color a day to make sure the ink has the time to dry between every print run.

So for example: if your design is made out of 3 colors it will take 3 days to print. If we need to cut your prints as well, then this will be done on the 4th day.

Yes we do! We only use tracked shipping and from a certain amount you’ll even get free shipping!

We currently only ship to the following countries:

  • Belgium
  • France
  • Germany
  • The Netherlands
  • Luxembourg

If you reside in a country nor listed above but still want to work with us or use one of our services please contact us.

Sure! Check our studio opening hours and send us a message (instagram) or mail when you plan to collect your order.

Only if your design is full bleed and therefor needs to be trimmed. Never put bleed or anything else in the unprintable area. Check out our tutorials and risoprinting essentials to see how this is done.

That depends. If your design is full bleed then yes you will need crop marks. Never put crop marks in the unprintable area. Please check our tutorials and read our risoprinting essentials.
